Preschool Portrait Experience
Capturing the Magical Years of Childhood
Preschool Portraits by Jodie Piggott Photography offers a relaxed, natural outdoor photography experience created specifically for all Auckland based Early Learning Centres, Preschools, Kindergartens, Daycares, & Childcare Centres.
Our approach is gentle, professional, and child-led — capturing genuine expressions, playful moments, and timeless portraits within your centre’s outdoor environment. Every session is thoughtfully woven into the preschool day, ensuring children feel comfortable, unhurried, and completely themselves.
Before Photo Day - Registration Is Essential
To ensure your child can be photographed, online registration must be completed prior to Photo Day.
Registration:
Provides official photography permission
Allows us to prepare your child’s private gallery
Confirms that individual portraits can be taken
Unfortunately, children who are not registered cannot be photographed individually.
Parents choose their preferred package after viewing their gallery, so there is no need to decide in advance.
What to Expect on Photo Day
Photo Day is calm, organised, and seamlessly integrated into the preschool routine.
- Photography takes place during normal preschool hours
- Individual portraits and natural play-based images are captured outdoors (weather permitting)
- Sibling portraits are photographed where applicable
- Sessions are gentle, relaxed, and child-led
We begin individual portraits from approximately 8:45am (flexible to suit your centre). Each registered child is photographed individually.
We work patiently and warmly, allowing your child’s personality to unfold naturally — capturing authentic expressions rather than forced smiles.
What Families Receive
Each registered child receives a thoughtfully curated gallery of approximately 12–15 professionally edited images, including:
- A mix of candid play-based moments
- Natural individual portraits
- A variety of expressions and angles
- With a mix of colour and black & white versions
Every gallery is unique, reflecting your centre’s outdoor spaces and your child’s individuality.
Private galleries are delivered approximately 7-10 working days after photography is completed.
What Should My Child Wear?
Clothing plays an important role in creating timeless images. We recommend:
- Soft, neutral, or earthy tones
- Simple textures and light layering
- Avoiding large logos, characters, or busy patterns
- Comfortable outfits your child feels confident wearing
Classic styling ensures your portraits will not feel dated in years to come.
Class Photo Style
We offer a traditional class photo format, with children seated in rows and teachers included. This timeless style remains a favourite among families and becomes a treasured keepsake for years to come.
Class photos printed on high quality A4 photo paper and laminated for protection.
Class Photos are a printed item only, and are not available as a digital image for privacy reasons.
Class photos are typically taken first thing in the morning, approximately 9.30am and prior to morning tea.
If you would prefer your child not to be included in the class photo, please let your centre know prior to photo day.
After Photo Day - Viewing & Ordering
Once your gallery is ready, you will receive:
- A private, password-protected online gallery
- Notification via email
- A 10–14 day ordering window
All ordering is completed online for ease and convenience.
We offer a range of digital and print packages, including:
- High-resolution digital images suitable for professional printing
- Immediate download access after purchase
- Print products designed for framing and keepsakes
These are images created to be treasured — displayed in your home and preserved for generations.
Printed packages are delivered to the centre approximately 2–3 weeks after ordering closes.
If your gallery link expires, please reach out — we will always do our best to assist where possible.

Privacy & Security
Your child’s images are treated with the utmost care.
- Galleries are private and password protected
- Images are never shared publicly without written consent
- Files are stored securely
